  1. Planning for Fall 2026

The direction of the SACL Committee will be defined by the UMW’s strategic plan.  Within the Strategic Plan, there are 5 priorities.  This Committee’s work will correspond to Priority 3: Cultivating Community, Engagement, Belonging, and School Sprit.

Each Priority is associated with several action items; overall, there are 24 separate action items. Faculty and administrators can vote on which three action items they would like to be funded.  Voting is open until May 15th.

Based upon the results of the vote, Student Affairs will develop their own strategic plan, which will help determine the SACL Committee’s direction.  If a Priority 3 item does not receive funding, the Committee could be instrumental in developing alternative ways to implement the action items. The newly-elected chair will work with Mike Walsh to determine agenda items and special guests related to Priority 3.

  1. Final Remarks

The Committee thanks Ashe for his service as committee chair for the last two years. Additionally, the Committee thanks Randy and Shushma for their service and valuable input during their terms.
